Talking about sex
Healthy and authentic expression of our sexuality, whatever form that may take, is important to our wellbeing and forms a core part of who we are. When things are not going well in our sex lives, or we are struggling with or confused about who we are or what we want (or don’t want) sexually, we can lose the spark in our lives or feel distant within our relationships.
A safe space to explore your feelings
Common reasons to begin psychosexual therapy:
- loss of interest in sex, especially in a long-term relationship
- finding it difficult to get started (or restarted) sexually or romantically, perhaps because you feel inexperienced or anxious around sex and relationships, or because you have not had sex or been in a relationship for a while
- wanting to explore your sexual identity
- struggling with compulsive behaviours or feelings of shame around sex
- body image issues or low self-esteem around sex, dating or relationships
- a past trauma, especially a sexual trauma
- grief, loss or relationship breakdown affecting your feelings around sex and relationships
- the impact of fertility issues, pregnancy, menopause or ageing on your experience of sex
My background and approach
My post-qualifying Certificate in Psychosexual Studies was completed at Tavistock Relationships in London, and I have undertaken additional training at the Centre for Psychosexual Health in London. I have particular experience with clients experiencing divorce and relationship breakdown, and working with infidelity in relationships, its causes and impacts.
I take an open, non-judgemental and non-pathologising approach to my work. I welcome clients of all genders and sexualities, and also have specialist training around kink, non-monogamy and polyamory.
